Space, Range and Display is part of the Tesco Marketing team. We’re passionate about making things better for our customers – it’s the driving force behind everything we do.

You’ve seen our work in every Tesco store you’ve visited. From setting up the right space on the shop floor through to making the displays that showcase products to customers, when you work in Space, Range and Display, you’re making a difference across the board in every store. You’ll get to help us maximise the use of space, improve the customer shopping experience and drive sales by applying your knowledge about seasonality, trends, our customers and how they shop in our stores.

Space, Range and Display is split into different teams, each with its own specialised focus.

The Display team is at the heart of things: its job is to ensure that our displays are both inspiring and make it easy for customers to shop – as well as simple for stores to implement.

The Space team works very closely with our Display team, analysing how we can best tailor the space to get the right offers and services for every community that our stores serve.

Some of our teams are doing work that’s all about the ‘here and now’ while others are focused on the future – evaluating the latest trends to ensure that we stay at the cutting edge of retail in the way we work with stores and the experience we create for customers.

Customer focus, collaboration and high levels of flexibility are the key skills required within our teams.

What you’ll need will depend on your role within the function. You might need to be very detail focused, or highly creative.

Because things move so quickly, the projects you will be involved in are varied and fast paced. Our large-scale projects see us working together across the business with both our UK and international colleagues. Our latest projects include:

  • Launching the latest thinking for our Produce category
  • Designing e-learnings and videos to improve our colleagues’ skills
  • Revolutionising the equipment we use to display our products
  • Saving costs throughout our distribution networks
  • Improving the systems we use


Whatever the project, you will inevitably work across many varied functions, engaging stakeholders at all levels to drive change and innovation.

As well as working with your 140-strong colleagues in Space, Range and Display, you could work closely with Buyers, Operations Managers, Stores, Property and our Marketing colleagues.
