You’ll need to be able to put your Tesco colleagues at the heart of everything you do – so they can go on and do the same for our customers. And we see great leadership as having five core skills: Empathy, Collaboration, Innovation, Resilience and Responsiveness. As a Human Resource leader you’ll need to have these attributes in spades, along with a strong commercial focus. Even more importantly you should have strong values and beliefs; never being afraid to stand up for what’s right.

The opportunities are endless. You could be designing a new benefit scheme and helping colleagues understand it. You could be delivering training modules to imbed our leadership skills or finding solutions to help a colleague perform at their best.

It’s likely you’ll work in one of our Operational Teams. These sit at the heart of our business, partnering with Tesco leaders to find and develop talented colleagues, lead business change and culture, and build capability in their teams. This could be in any of our locations – from a large store to a team within Head Office. Specialist Human Resource teams also support our Operational Teams. These include: Talent, Academy, Resourcing, Reward, Expatriate Services, Payroll, Organisation Development and Employee Relations.

We believe the best ideas don’t come from working alone – or even from sitting still at your desk. The only way to really understand what matters to our colleagues is to continually interact with everyone in the business. The people you’ll work with will be varied – from your immediate team, to our senior leadership teams, and other teams in the office, stores or distribution.
